How Do We Live Through The Adversities Of Life?

Jesus promised His people that “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32) (NIV). Our identity in Jesus Christ is a fundamental truth that we believers need to understand, if we are to experience this promised freedom and to grow to christian maturity.

Relationship         versus     Harmony

Relationship= being born again (DNA) a son or daughter of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Harmony= doing according to Jesus Christ  ( Trust and Obey )

One of the ways as a christian to live through our adversities is to understand our spiritual inheritance because this is the key to resolving our daily conflicts.

Knowing truth about who you are in Christ makes such a difference in your success at handling the challenges and conflicts of life. It  is imperative to your growth and maturity that you believe God’s truth about who you are.

According to Neil T. Anderson’s book Victory Over Darkness, he explains as a christian we must realize the power of your idenity in Christ. Your understanding of who God is and who you are in relationship to Him is the critical foundation for your belief system and your behavior patterns as a christian.

2 Timothy 1:9 (NIV) He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.

We live through the adversities of life by knowing who God is and who we are in Him.

Where in your own life do you see a connection between your belief system and your behavior patterns?

How does your belief about yourself influence your behavior?

You are loved by God so continue to study who you are in Him!

Until we meet again,

Yours in Christ,

The In Between Time Of Life.

Stress, Person, Man, Figure, Outline

As you know life is constantly moving , each day we experience new challenges, however, life  goes on according to Elijah, 1 Kings 19: 9 (NIV)  There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him, and He said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Why was he in the cave?

Elijah was on a mission for God  according to 1King 19:1 (NIV)

Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done so Jezebel promised to kill him.

Similarly, when God sends believers on a mission we don’t know what is involved however, we obey God because we trust His lead as a believer.

1 King 19: 3-4  (NIV) Elijah was afraid, and ran for his life. After hearing what Jezebel promised to do. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said, ” take my life; I am no better than my ancestors”. Then he layed down under the bush and fell asleep. Twice an angel woke him and instructed him to eat to regain his strength, as the journey is too much without food.

1Kings 19: 9-10 (NIV) There he went into a cave and spent the night. The Lord appeared to Elijah, and the word of the Lord came to him:  “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

Need new instructions:

Similarly,  God wants us to come into His presence, come away from the hussle and bussle of life and sit quietly before Him. He wants to lead and guide you, encourage you, renew your strength. Doing the work of the Lord is draining, therefore, when you are tired, the atack can be devastating the opposition can come in  some sort of fear or intemidation that would slow you down.

Why is it good to sit quietly before the Lord?

God will show you His promises according to Ps 91:9-11 (NIV)

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place, the most high who is my refuge, no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your home, and He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

As you meditate on the word of God, fear will go away.  Also,  trust and obey the word of the Lord,  and you will see the brightness of the day. Therefore, you will find God is faithful, unswerving in His love and devotion.

Be encouraged and continue doing the work of the Lord!

Yours in Christ,

What Are We Talking About?

One moring, I had a conversation with a friend of mind and she expressed her sadness for the body of Christ, she said, “people seem to have a dislike for the church of Jesus Christ and those who claim to be christians, (Christlike) the people of God are selfish, greedy, afraid of what people say about them, etc. she continued saying;  I invite people to church and they express a dislike because of some uncomfortable experience they have had in the pass which turned them off from coming back to the house of God”.

I began to tell her everyone in the church dosen’t have  a personal relationship with Christ.

We should all search our own hearts and be concern with what kind of fruit we are producing as children of God. Do we really know Him? (Christ Jesus) Have we taken time to study Him? (Christ Jesus) Are we really instrested in Him? (Christ Jesus)

During our conversation with my friend, I remembered a quote from this book:  The fruitful life, The over flow of God through you. By Jerry Bridges

If you want to grow closer to God’s way of doing things; His way which will draw people to Christ, is to develop a relationship with God, by creating a devotion to God: with these three things:

The fear of God, the love of God, the desire of God. This will help develop the fruit of the spirit, by the Holy Spirit within us as children of God. (belivers of the word of God).

According to Galatians 5:22-23  (AMP)

But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Most importantly, inner peace while we wait for what we want, if we trust God’s leading us through the holy spirit, we should ask ourselves this question. How are we acting while we wait on an answer from the Lord?

I pray God bless your heart to seek after God with all your heart, and be able to keep your peace while waiting for an answer from God through studing God’s word and daily prayer.

Until we meet again!

God bless your mind and cover your thoughts with His word!

Secret Place

geralt / Pixabay

According to Psalms 91 Matthew Henry’s Commentary
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
PSALMS 91:1-8 He that by faith chooses God for his protector, shall find all in him that he
needs or can desire. And those who have found the comfort of making the Lord their refuge,
cannot but desire that others may do so. The spiritual life is protected by Divine grace from
the temptations of Satan, which are as the snares of the fowler, and from the contagion of
sin, which is a noisome pestilence. Great security is promised to believers in the midst of
danger. Wisdom shall keep them from being afraid without cause, and faith shall keep them
from being unduly afraid. Whatever is done, our heavenly Father’s will is done; and we have
no reason to fear. God’s people shall see, not only God’s promises fulfilled, but his
threatenings. Then let sinners come unto the Lord upon his mercy-seat, through the
Redeemer’s name; and encourage others to trust in him also.

Faith: Faith is in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true.

These scriptures are about Paul persuading the church to believe and hold on to there faith, even thought he was in jail or traveling and not able to be in their presents. He told them to Hold on to their Faith!

(Philippians  1:27 (AMP) ; 2 Thessalonians 2:13 (AMP ). Its primary idea is trust. A thing is true, and therefore worthy of trust. It admits of many degrees up to full assurance of faith, in accordance with the evidence on which it rests.

Faith is the result of teaching ( Romans 10:14-17 NIV). Knowledge is an essential element in all faith, and is sometimes spoken of as an equivalent to faith ( John 10:38 ( AMP ) ; 1 John 2:3 (NIV). Yet the two are distinguished in this respect, that faith includes in it assent (give in), which is an act of the will in addition to the act of the understanding. Assent (yield) to the truth is of the essence of faith, and the ultimate ground on which our assent to any revealed truth rests is the veracity ( truthfulness; correctness or accuracy) of God.

Matured Faith in God builds Trust in Him! Walk humble with a great since of  eternity.

Who do you believe or what are you trusting in?

The Way To Stay Healthy

Good Nutrients Help You to Grow!

Most people want to be healthy, so we find ourselves learning what foods to eat or not to eat, to produce good health naturally, so that we can live strong and live long. However, aside from our natural nutrients, we must feed our spirit the right food to grow and be strong in the Lord and in His power.

There are two realms: natural/spiritual

Developing your faith: According to Romans 8:9  (NIV) You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh (natural) but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. Your reborn spirit is the real you, the central core of your identity. Remember your spirit is what makes you alive to the things of God.

When you are born again

God has deposited in your spirit His own life-producing Faith. It’s yours to use just like He does, to create where creation is needed and to move mountains that stand in your way. To use your faith effectively, however, you can’t just focus on externals, thinking and talking like unbelievers do. You must develop your spirit and learn to live like someone from another world. (Emphasis mine) “If  God gave you vision through entrepreneural inspiration, believe God and move by faith, through prayer and get started. He will send the increase”.

John 6:63-64  (NIV) “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. “But there are some of you who do not believe.”

The Healing of a Boy

When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him.  “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”   “O unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.  Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”  He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (You must believe, it’s by faith and not by sight).

Feed your Spirit with the word of God, and stay connected to the vine (Jesus Christ) through prayer, so your faith can be nourished as you would feed your natural body. If you don’t eat natural food you become malnourished and weak, the same thing happens when you don’t feed your spirit as your faith is operated by the spirit of God.

If you have issues trying to believe, pray and ask God to help your unbelief. Mark 9:24 (NIV) Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Until we meet again,

Yours in Christ,

No Restrain

geralt / Pixabay

One morning I had a conversation with a young lady in my community, she said, “there has been a lot of talk about people who want to change their sex because they believe a women gets more attention and are more beautiful then men”. I believe this young lady was referring to a popular and rich family who has several beautiful women in there family and they are getting a lot of attention from the world. It was brought to my attention through the news media, there is a man who is the father of several beautiful women, who has had a secret for many years. His secret began to unfold when he was caught cross dressing secretly as a women when his children were very young. This brought on the conversation of discuss the difference between jealousy and covetness.

What is restrainto hold back from action; keep in check or under control; repress.

What is jealousy? feeling resentment against someone because of that person’s rivalry, success, or advantages.

What is covet:  According to Dictionary.com, to desire wrongfully, inordinately, or without due regard for the rights oothers: or to have an inordinate or wrongful desire. (covetness has no limits you will do anything to have what you desire) …emphasis mine.

Covetness: Exodus 20:17 (KJV)  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s.

Romans 7:7 (MSG) But I can hear you say, “If the law code was as bad as all that, it’s no better than sin itself.” That’s certainly not true. The law code had a perfectly legitimate function. Without its clear guidelines for right and wrong, moral behavior would be mostly guesswork. Apart from the succinct, surgical command, “You shall not covet,” I could have dressed covetousness up to look like a virtue and ruined my life with it.

1 Timothy 6: 8-10 (NIV) Contentment in Godliness, If we have food and covering, with these we shall be  content.  But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

 Food for thought…

What must The Church do?

‪#‎PRAYER‬

I began reading the post a friend named Dannet Mitchell from our community of prayer warriors called W.I.F.E. (Women In Fellowship and Encouragement) wrote, as I read the Holy Spirit within me agreed with what she wrote and I thought it would be good to share.

Partaining to Rulings and tragic circumstances in our nation/world should STOP shocking the Church!

The bible declares “Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.(2 Peter 3:3 NLT). In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

Beloved, even well meaning Christians if they are not careful and learned on the explicit gospel will become lukewarm for fear of seeming too extreme or uniquely oppositional. When asked , what say ye? Rather than speaking truth for they are of the One who is truth Himself , they will straddle the thin line between truth and fallacy.

Careful then, to know truth and vow to live it. FEAR NOT, some who will desert your position were NOT eternal allies. So what must the church do, what we should always do- LIVE IN STEP with the Gospel and in LINE with the Spirit. We should be prayering fervently and consistently. We should be loving people from all creed, ethnicity and ideology as so the light of He who is the light of the world may enlighten dark minds and the four courners to the world.

So, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be made for all people-for kings and all those in authority” (I Timothy 2:1-2, (AMP) Here we find Paul writing to Timothy incouraging him to; First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men.

For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.

Saints, get to your knees and know truth (read the word); so when it’s your turn to speak or love you may rightly represent Christ.

Live Life On Purpose

Jedidja / Pixabay

I come to the garden alone: Click on to this link.

Garden Genesis 1: 11-12 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

During devotion time with the Lord in the morning, there are some things that came to my mind after reading the scripture from Genesis.

God is a God of life, always producing new life more and more. ” Let the land produce vegetation”, that’s life for purpose. (to feed other’s new life.)

I also noticed, everything that produced had seed to produce more of it’s own kind.

In order to produce life continually, we must have the mind of God, in the spirit of God, to produce new life, or we will fall into the trap of just doing things to satisfy ourselves.

This is God’s Love: John 3:16  (NIV)  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

As a believer, we should produce seed that will grow and produce into good works for the kingdom of God.

Live life on purpose!

Pray about everything, worry about nothing,”because God is greater than your greatest concern”.

Until we meet again,

God bless!

 Stay in Him!

Have You Pruned Your Garden/ Get rid of dead things!

Hans / Pixabay

2 Corinthians 5:17 ( NLT), Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

I have a Garden, during the mornings I go to my garden and water the flowers, feed the plants plant food and the vegetable plants vegetable food, this particular morning I had an Epiphany, according to Dictionary.com, Epiphany, means  a sudden, intuitive perception of or  insight into the reality or essential meaning of something usually initiated by some simple, homely, or common place occurrence or experience.

During my experience in gardening,  I understand the importance of pruning. If you don’t cut away the dead branches it will draw the life from the new fruit coming up as new life.

Meaning of Prune: according to dictionary.com to cut or lop superfluous or undesired twigs, branches, or roots from trim.  This particular morning I was pulling the dead blooms from the plants and cutting the dead flowers and weeds from the beautiful arrangement in the garden. This is my Epiphany, a thought came to me; this is how you must prune your heart from the dead  desires and practices that don’t please God such as:  stealing,  lying, cheating, jealousy, rage, self righteousness, unforgiveness, murder, sexual sins, etc. I realized this is work, as it took a lot of time to remove the dead blooms and weeds from the flower garden, the same will take time in the garden of your heart.

Once you become a christian, by accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Savior, after that you must study the word of God to know who you are as a new creature in Him. This new life can grow up through the fruits of the Holy Spirit of God but you must do some pruning.

Proverb 4:23 International Standard Version
Above everything else guard your heart, because from it flow the springs of life.

I pray that the garden of your heart is being pruned on a daily base, removing the desire for things of this fallen world, to the things of the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus, they are in the word of God and they are God’s desire which brings life! (change old habit’s, change your environment).

Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

The Gospel which is “the word of God” must be studied by each believer.
Until we meet again, Stay in Him!

Yours in Christ,

Why Do You Dress Up?

WikiImages / Pixabay

While on a women’s retreat during breakfast, one of my friends came to sit at the breakfast table with our group of ladies who came on the trip together.  We began talking and  the subject came up about my friend’s grandchildren. She mentioned her oldest grand daughter would keep her company during the time she would spend with them, my friend shared with us the fact that her granddaughter loved taking her shoes off, then putting on her mom’s shoes out of the closet, her joy came in walking in her mom’s heels, then she would take off her clothes and put on her mom’s dresses, hat’s and sweaters. Once the baby felt she was dressed up, my friend explained, “her grand baby  would come to her and say grand-mom, how do you like my outfit”? She said, “this grandchild really liked dressing up”. At that time her grand child was only three years old and grand mom thought “this child will be a designer or work in the clothing industry”.  We laughed and enjoyed talking about how children keep us interested in what they are doing at such an early age.

Why dress up?

There are several reasons why we dress up. Some of us like different styles of clothes and it is important to you to keep up with the changing of styles of clothes, and some people like how we can command attention from other people by what we wear, others dress to keep warm or cool.  Meanwhile, some have no interest at all in outward appearance of styles changing, etc., they just want to cover up to not be exposed to the elements. As I went back to my hotel room, I began to think about the bible and when you are a born believer; your spiritual maturity causes you to look at how God requires us to be clothed, according to Paul’s teaching to the church of Ephesus, while Paul was in prison he taught them by sending them letters saying, “you must dress for the fight in the spirit and this you don’t see, it’s called spiritual warfare”.

This means Paul knew the church was not aware of the unseen battle, so he had to teach them how to dress for success in the spirit of the Lord. Paul taught them how to take off fear, put on trust in the word of God, take off slow fullness or laziness and watch as well as pray. According to Ephesians 6:10-20 (AMP)

Paul writes :
